With the publication of the 4th edition of ISO 9001 in November, 2008, requirements have been published by RABQSA and IRCA for auditor professional development.
Auditors certified in RABQSA’s Quality Management System (QMS) Auditor Certification Schemes, will be required to submit evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to his/her awareness and understanding of the relevant updates to ISO 9001:2000. Audits conducted to the ISO 9001:2008 standard will not be accepted as meeting the audit experience recertification requirements, if the above evidence has not been submitted within the Auditors recertification cycle.
The RABQSA has provided flexibility as to the duration and method used to obtain the ISO 9001:2008 CPD; however, specific details of the CPD’s relevance to the ISO 9001:2008 updates, and appropriate verification, must be included on the RABQSA CPD form.
The IRCA has outlined the learning objectives it requires be addressed in auditor training:
A delegate who successfully completes the course shall be able to:
- Understand the underlying philosophy and the principles, concepts
and requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard, and how to apply
them within an audit context.
- Understand the key differences between the revised series of
standards and the 2000 & 2008 version, and understand the
implications of these differences for effective auditing against the revised standard.
IQC is providing a webinar that satisfies both the RABQSA and IRCA requirements for 3rd Party Auditors, as well as Internal Auditors.
The 2 hour professional development Webinar will address the learning objectives listed above.
